Climate change is a serious challenge facing the world. At present, global warming is accelerating, and extreme weather and climate events are frequent, strong and widespread, seriously affecting the global economy and society and the natural ecological environment. Therefore, addressing climate change is a matter of urgency and has a bearing on the future of humankind and on sustainable global development.
In the field of combating climate change, we are pleased to see that there is a group of unswerving participants and actors, under the guidance of policies such as the "dual-carbon" target, the "synergy of pollution reduction and carbon reduction", and the "encouragement of the participation of the whole society in carbon emission reduction". Under the guidance of the "dual carbon" target, "carbon reduction and synergy", and "encouraging the participation of the whole society in carbon emission reduction", we are pleased to see that a group of determined participants and actors are contributing to the mitigation of climate change in their own ways, from the perspectives of policy research, awareness-raising, and scientific and technological innovation.
The 28th Conference of the Parties (COP28) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), to be held from 30 November to 12 December 2023, has also emphasized the importance of the participation and action of social organizations and the public in the field of combating climate change, and governments have committed themselves to strengthening cooperation with social organizations and the public in combating the climate crisis.
In order to better encourage those who are actively involved in addressing climate change to maintain their enthusiasm for action, and to maintain long-term and stable development in the field of climate change, in 2024, with the support of the European Union, China Association for the Promotion of International Cooperation among Civil Society Organizations (CAPICCO) and Lvse Jiangnan launched the "Industry Talent Growth Action Support Program --The aim of the program is to enhance the knowledge and capacity of industry personnel", expand the communication network, promote the talent pool of the industry, and to a certain extent, motivate and support the participants and individuals who are interested in the long-term development of climate change public welfare, and help the green transformation of the society and economy.
Grant Setting
The amount of grant is 2000-10000 RMB/person, supporting 10-12 people. The grant can be used for tuition, travel (both domestic and international), and other costs related to capacity building in the area of climate change.
Entry requirement
Have the nationality of the People's Republic of China and carry out actions to address climate change within China;
Already in action on climate change topics, or have plans to carry out actions and have until August 31, 2024 to be able to complete project practices;
Applicants, regardless of age and status, can be talented people with potential in climate issues, key members of social organizations, or people with action plans at the research or practice level, and so on;
Encourage young talents, women or practitioners from start-up organizations to actively apply, and encourage China's climate change talents to actively participate in international climate governance;

Caveat
Incomplete application materials, failure to meet the application requirements, or late submission will be regarded as abandonment of the eligibility to apply;
False application materials, once verified, the application qualification will be canceled;
During the project period, if the grantee or his/her organization has serious negative incidents affecting the reputation of the climate change public welfare industry, which are verified to be true, the organizer will revoke his/her eligibility for funding and decide at its discretion whether or not to recover the granted grant;

Project Background
The project "Promoting the Development of Social Organizations in the Field of Climate and Gender Issues" is funded by the European Union and implemented by the China Association for the Promotion of International Cooperation among Civil Society Organizations in cooperation with the SIP Lvse Jiangnan Public Environment Concerned Centre (PECC) and the Shaanxi Women and Children Development Foundation (SWCF). The project aims to strengthen the professionalism of social organizations on climate and gender issues and enhance their institutional development capacity by providing capacity-building and resource support.
